Paediatric School Care Services
BAYADA Paediatric Nurses and Home Health Care Assistants are experienced and specially trained to provide one-on-one care to your child at school, giving you peace of mind that your child is in good hands while away from home.
We can help your child with all their medical and personal care needs in their school setting, keeping them safe and comfortable so they can focus on their school goals.
Depending on your child’s specific needs, our care at school may include:
- Complex, high-tech nursing care throughout the school day
- Facilitating classroom tasks, such as turning pages or working on a computer
- Assisting with personal care tasks, such as toileting and cutting up food
- One-on-one support on field trips
Frequently Asked Questions
Q – Does the nurse sit with my child in the classroom?
Yes, if it is necessary and facilitates learning for your child. However, depending on your child’s needs, the nurse may sit elsewhere in the classroom, but always able to see your child.
Q – What does the nurse wear to school?
Casual clothing
Q – What does the nurse do while my child is socialising or interacting with others?
We understand that all children – including those with special needs – should be able to enjoy social interactions with other classmates. Although our nurses and home health care assistants strive to give each child a sense of independence when socialising, they will always consider your child’s safety first when determining their appropriate level of involvement in each situation.
Q – Can someone from BAYADA participate in school meetings?
A BAYADA Nursing Manager is available to participate in meetings and collaborate with you and the school team.

Bayada is an Approved National Provider of Paediatric Homecare For Children With Complex Conditions to the Health Service Executive (HSE).
